Rick lost his life this past Wednesday, March 19, 2003.  It appears at this time that it was of natural causes.  His funeral services are being held Monday, March 24, 2003 at the Mission Chapel 62-272 Pierson Blvd. in Desert Hot Springs, California.  The services begin at 11:30 AM.

His staring role in "Over the Top" with Sly Stallone made the whole world aware of our sport. The sport owes him a great debt for his many contributions over the years.

Richard Zumwalt Jr.

Richard Lee Zumwalt Jr., 51, of Desert Hot Springs died March 19, 2003, in
Desert Hot Springs.

He was born Sept. 24, 1951, to Richard Lee and Anna Mae Zumwalt.

He was an actor with the Screen Actor's Guild, former Teamster, and active
with state and local alcohol and drug prevention programs. He served in the
U.S. Army.

He is survived by one daughter, Michelle Ordway of Hesperia; one son, James
of Apple Valley; one brother, Mark of Los Angeles; and one grandchild.

Memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Mission Chapel, Desert Hot
Springs Mortuary. Inurnment will be private with Desert Hot Springs Mortuary
in charge of arrangements.
